About the School

Welcome to Hogwarts from Headmistress @constance

Dear Students and Parents, 

As Headmistress of this prestigious school, allow me to be the first to give you a very warm welcome to each and every one of you. At Hogwarts myself and my staff work tirelessly to provide the best education we possibly can. We work closely with our students, helping them to reach their potential in a number of ways. At Hogwarts, we are very proud of everyone that passes through and we look forward to continuing this for many years to come. 

Naturally though there are things that we need from you, to help us, help your children. Which is why we provided you with this handbook. It gives you in-depth detail about what we need from your students and we hope that it gives you as parents a little bit more of an understanding of the expectations for this school.

My teachers and I work closely with the  Minister and the Ministry of Magic so that we can provide education of the highest tier in agreement with their educational decree. We hope that all our students will flourish and we are incredibly proud to help guide them along the path that they need to follow, no matter what it may be.

Brief History of Hogwarts

Located in the Highlands of Scotland and established around the 10th century (roughly 990 A.D) and was founded by four of the greatest wizards of our time, Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw and Salazar Slytherin. Hogwarts is considered to be one of the finest magical institutions in the wizarding world. Taking in students from Great Britain. Scotland, Northern Ireland and the republic of Ireland.

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry has boasted many famous and successful witches and wizards, some of the most notable include Merlin the Great, Newt Scamander, Bathilda Bagshot, Albus Dumbledore and of course in recent years Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger.

Most of the original building still stands but over the years we have improved and added to the architecture whilst still keeping up the illusion of the original brickwork and designs as created by the original four founders. The forbidden forest, however, has been around since the very beginning of time added as extra protection in case people were to accidentally stumble upon our school.

Back when the school was originally created a powerful charm was put into place to prevent muggles from stumbling into the school and potentially putting themselves and us at risk. If a muggle were to arrive at Hogwarts, they would see nothing but ruins and another powerful charm would make them feel like they've forgotten something that means they have to leave so we can assure your children the highest level of safety.

The Four Houses

Upon arriving at Hogwarts first years are sorted into one of four houses named after the founders, these houses are like your children's family and they will eat, live and learn with the other people in their houses. The sorting is very simple and thorough. The houses chosen for your children well be picked to match their traits so that they can reach that complete potential. Below, the houses have been outlined for your convenience.
